In Loving Memory of Jonathan Aaron Koberna
Introducing The Vance Family
We have had a very eventful last few months. After graduation, we made our big move to Philadelphia, PA. What an adventure! We literally had four suitcases and the address of our apartment - no car, no bed, nothing. The items we shipped finally arrived two weeks after we did (even though they were suppose to be there two weeks before - but that's a different story). Marshall taught an undergrad accounting class at Wharton and spent the remainder of the summer as a TA for an Executive MBA class and attending a non-essential math camp. In July, Isaac and Jennie flew to Texas to visit grandma, grandpa, Uncle Dan, and lots of friends and other family - we even went to the beach! Jennie got her wisdom teeth out and recovered quickly, thanks to the help of those who watched Isaac. Marshall's family came to visit on their way to Germany, and we very much enjoyed Becky's company - she stayed with us for about two weeks before she headed off to Utah to be with Malinda and her new baby boy, Mason, born on Aug 30.
We have recently celebrated lots of birthdays including Isaac's on 8/29 (now one-year old) and Marshall's on 9/18 (today!). Marshall started his program on September 5th, and is working hard to stay ahead of his classes. Aside from being a stay-at-home mom, Jennie is a TA for an undergrad accounting class at Wharton. Isaac is an angel. He is very close to walking, he still has no hair, and he charms everyone he meets - trying to take after his Uncle Jonathan. His favorite food is fruit - any kind, you name it and he loves it. So we are all happy and busy.
The pics below are from some of the good times we had this summer. From left to right: Isaac posing as George Washington at Valley Forge - what you can't see is Grandma Leslie holding him up; Jennie, Valerie, Alex and Isaac at Independence Hall; Isaac with Uncle Todd, Aunt Maureen, and Cousins Jackson and Augustine; Grandpa Lynn feeding Isaac - the face is a must, it's the only way you can get them to eat :); and Isaac enjoying a bath with Grandma Becky.
